Nokia has some other great test patterns here. Make sure you check them out!

Thanks, Schroinx!

Instructions:

  1. Click on the thumbnail of the test pattern you want below. The full-sized pattern will appear in a new window.

  2. To save the full-sized test pattern, right-click on it (if using Internet Explorer) and then choose Save Picture As...

  3. Choose a location on your hard drive to save it.

  4. View the pattern using any program that supports GIF images and will let you do a Fullscreen, non-magnified (100%) view. I like to use ACD See, PaintShop Pro, or Adobe Photoshop to accomplish this.

Or, if you don't want to use any of the above programs, just do this:

  • Right-click your Windows desktop, then choose Properties to open the Display Properties window.

  • Under the Background tab, click Browse and locate the appropriate test pattern for the resolution you want to test.

  • In the Picture Display drop-down box, choose Center. Click OK to close the Display Properties window.

  • Right-click your Windows desktop again, and point to Active Desktop, then uncheck Show Desktop Icons.

  • Finally, right-click your Task Bar, choose Properties and make sure Auto hide is checked.

  • Change over to the Windows resolution you wish to test--if you haven't ready done so. You should now see a full-screen view of the test pattern you selected!

  1. You can view the test pattern to see if your TV is actually displaying every line of resolution.

  2. You can also use Entech PowerStrip and/or your TV's adjustment tools to center the picture, adjust the geometry, or reduce overscan as much as possible.

  3. Feedback (such as requests to create test patterns for other resolutions not listed here) can be sent here. Otherwise, please post your questions at the appropriate AVS Forum and/or PowerStrip forum.
